Youthy gets Go-Karts
Well done to Naomi, Ralph, Anthony, Liam, Matty B, Reece, Matty T, Josh and Micky who have raised £3,000 from the Prince's Trust and Keyfund to set up the Wacky Racers Go-Karting Project at HYI. The group can now buy 2 go-karts and have them stored and maintained at Karting North East.
Over the summer holidays the young people involved successfully completed their Community Leaders training which means they can take groups to the circuit and train them to use the karts, do basic maintenance and organise races.
The Wacky Racers project will make go-karting a more accessible and affordable activity for young people in the community, who previously would not have had the oppoirtunity to take part in this exciting activity.
The group are currently writing letters to local businesses to drum up support for the project so it can continue to run for years to come.
